Poker for the Fresher- A BRIEF GUIDE TO THE GAME OF POKER

BEtfair poker
You may have watched the series called Las Vegas and wondered what it would feel like to be a Poker player. All those elegant chips and nicely decked cards seem to have your name emblazoned across them don’t they? If you have been toying with the idea of playing poker and are a bit scared about venturing out into its waters, don’t be. Poker is a game that may look frightening at the beginning but once you get the hang of it, you will wonder why you didn’t take a dive into its deep depths in the first place.

The first thing you should do is learn all you can about the game. There are no shortage of books and other materials that will help you gain more than a cursory understanding of poker. This will help you know what you are getting into and prepare you to take the dive.

Once you have at most learned what poker is all about, you can beat anybody at the game by doing the following things.

Change your hand: The easiest way to lose a game of poker is to be predictable. If you ever want to win the game, avoid playing the same move twice in arrow. Experts latch on to this move and can easily beat you to the winning chips. try as much as possible to be vary in the cards that you deal.

Hide your cards: Don’t ever make the mistake of showing your cards to your opponents. Show and tell doesn’t apply to the game of poker believe me. Letting your opponent know what you have in your hand is a dead ringer for a lost game.

Play with caution: Many beginners in the game make the mistake of playing every hand they have. They fall under the misconception that the more cards you play, the more you increase your chances of winning. This thought is very wrong as it tends to land many people on the loosing side. You should be able to exercise caution and play less. The key is to know when less is more and vice versa.

Learn when to fold: Always raise when you discover that you have aces or kings in your hands. This increases you chances of winning or losing. Pocket aces and pocket kings make the strongest starting hands that you will ever have. Make sure that you take advantage of that and learn when fold. This makes the difference between winning and losing.

Take advantages of weak players; weak players are those who don’t know much about the game of poker and who think that the game of poker is one of pure luck. The difference between you and them is that you know a little something about poker and they don’t. In the game of poker, you must take every advantage of any weak link you see. The weak players call a lot and over bet their cards. They tend not to know when they are losing and tend to raise when they should call and call when they should raise. With people like this, you will be able to make head way as you will make mince meat out of them.
With practice and knowledge, poker can be a familiar territory for you. All you have to do is take the first step; learn about the game.
